After many months of research I eventually chose The Three Shires School of Reflexology after investigating 4 colleges of FE and 2 other private providers offering reflexology courses.  I found that overall the private providers were more focused on supporting the individual learner. With the Three Shires I felt that this was true, however, there was also a strong emphasis on achievement of the practical skills and dedication needed to become a professional reflexologist in the world of work and on the importance of having clear aims for ones future career.  At interview it was made clear by the principal that the course they offered was not for the faint hearted and this was well founded in the processes we had to follow. From the above it should be clear that I would recommend this course to those looking to become a successful practising reflexologist.

You are going to commit time and effort to training as a reflexologist, so you should choose a course that offers, in return for your efforts, the highest level of qualification available in the UK. That qualification is the Awarding Bodies Consortium Diploma and is offered only by Association of Reflexologists accredited schools. The qualification fully complies with the House of Lords Select Committee on Science and Technology's report on Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and is the highest qualification available in the UK.

 This means that unlike many other courses you will not need to upgrade your qualification.

However, as  important  as that qualification may be, when are qualified your time will be spent hands on, with your clients, using your practical skills. The great majority of your clients will come to you through recommendation, and to achieve this level of referral your treatment skills will need to be outstanding. 

The importance of your practical training cannot therefore be underestimated.
