What happens at a treatment?

An initial consultation takes place during which your problem can be discussed in complete confidence. You will be asked to complete a  questionnaire, which will help your reflexologist to formulate your own personal treatment plan. When you go to your reflexologist for the first time it is a good idea to take with you a note of any prescribed medication you are taking, together with the dosage. Also, don't eat a meal immediately before treatment, please leave at least one hour after your food.

You will be asked to remove your shoes and socks, and you will be made comfortable on a chair or couch. (Please don't worry, most people say that they have horrible or ugly feet, your reflexologist will not think so!)

The treatment itself is deeply relaxing. The qualified reflexologist, works on the feet, or the hands where appropriate, applying gentle pressure with only the fingers and thumbs in order to feel the various reflex areas and points, and to find which, if any, are in need of particular attention. Any imbalances should be felt by the skilled practitioner, and at the end of a treatment he or she will be able to advise you as to a suitable course of treatment. Do not expect your reflexologist to diagnose. Only qualified medical practitioners may do so.

As the recipient of reflexology, you will feel very relaxed and calm. Many clients report an increase in energy, and find that their productivity and creativity improves. General health also improves with the help of regular treatment, and we know it to help in a preventative way.

Reflexology should be an enjoyable experience. Probably the worst thing that  can happen to you at a treatment is that you will have the most relaxing hour ever.
