How do I choose a reflexologist?
If you have been reading our pages you will have noticed that the words qualified and professional are regularly used . This is because we believe that it is essential in choosing a reflexologist, that you should be able to have complete confidence in your therapist, safe in the knowledge that they are well trained, fully qualified, and competent to treat you, and your problem, in a professional manner.
Those reflexologists who appear in our listings section have to comply with the above criteria before we will add their name to our directory. They also have access to our professional pages, with the wealth of information that they contain.
However it may be that you live in an area where no therapist is listed in our pages. If this is the case, please make sure that the therapist you choose belongs to one of the main governing bodies of reflexology. In the U.K. the largest is the Association of Reflexologists, , followed by the International Federation of Reflexologists ,and the British Reflexology Association. (Outside U.K. please see our useful links page). In most cases, these associations will be able to supply you with names and addresses of qualified therapists in your area.
Another good way to choose any complementary therapist is by recommendation. Try asking people you know if they know of anyone who is receiving treatment, and is satisfied with the results of that treatment.
Having chosen a therapist here are a few questions that you may like to ask:
| Can I have a consultation without committing to treatment? | |
| What are your qualifications, and are they available for me to see? | |
| Have you treated my condition before? | |
| How much will my treatment cost? |
You may like to ask yourself:
| Does this person seem professional? | |
| Could I relax with this person, and talk to them honestly? |
If you are satisfied with the answers, then you have found your reflexologist.
